Even if they can’t answer right away, leave a message so your claim is documented early—especially during widespread weather events.

✔ Do use buckets, trash cans, or pots to catch dripping water

Containing the leak helps prevent additional interior damage until help arrives.

✘ Don’t attempt to secure or repair the roof yourself

Climbing onto a damaged roof is extremely dangerous and can easily result in injury.

✘ Don’t climb onto the roof to assess the damage

If the weather is safe, evaluate the situation from the ground—binoculars can help—while staying alert for fallen debris.

If the damage was caused by a fire and the roof is safe to work on, we will begin by installing a temporary roof tarp or applying an emergency roof patch. No matter the cause, our first priority is always to secure the roof and make it watertight.

Safety is always the top concern. If severe weather is still present—such as high winds, lightning, or hail—we must wait until conditions improve. This applies to both homeowners and professionals. Nothing can be safely or effectively done from the outside until the dangerous weather has passed.
